He's a winner! Morton scoops February Player of the Month award

The 20-year-old has been in superb form since signing on loan from Championship outfit West Brom at the end of January and bagged himself five goals last month.

He netted the winner at Macclesfield Town, scored twice in defeat at Walsall and then bagged another brace when Cobblers won 3-0 at Grimsby Town.

Morton, who's also impressed with his work ethic and energy off the ball, was the third Northampton player to be nominated for a monthly award this season, following Nicky Adams (January) and Scott Wharton (November), but the first to win it.

He beat off competition from Cheltenham full-back Chris Hussey, Port Vale centre-back Leon Legge and Grimsby striker Charles Vernam.

As for the manager award, that went to Cheltenham boss Michael Duff.
