Gillingham midfielder suffers awful injury before Cobblers game
Gillingham winger Kadeem Harris is set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday’s goalless draw at Fleetwood Town.
Harris was stretchered off on 70 minutes at Highbury after the ground gave way under his foot, leading to his knee injury. The 33-year-old signed for the Gills in June and has started all three games this season, two in League Two and one in the EFL Cup.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “Kadeem was one of our star signings in the summer window so to now be without a player of his calibre, quality and professionalism is a huge loss to the group. He will be sorely missed during this time but we wish him a full and speedy recovery and I have no doubt he will come back an even stronger character than he already is. Our thoughts are with him and our medical staff will continue to monitor his situation to ensure he recovers properly.”
Gills club captain Liam Gordon is also expected to miss a period of time after going off with a knee injury against Walsall on the opening day, while Armani Little remains a doubt.
