FIFA approve plans to extend contracts and change transfer window in bid to rescue season
The world's governing body set up a 'taskforce' last week to work on proposals that would allow the current season to be extended beyond June 30, when many contracts are due to expire, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Tuesday's announcement was made following consultation between FIFA's Football Stakeholders Committee and representatives of clubs, players, leagues, national associations and confederations.

FIFA are also encouraging clubs and players to find payment solutions while football is on hold. As for the transfer window, they are prepared to be flexible so it can be moved between the end of the old season and the start of a new one.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: "The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly changed all the factual circumstances around football for this season.
"So, FIFA, together with the stakeholders, has come up with some practical ideas and proposals to tackle these new circumstances.
