Familiar feeling for Austin after Cobblers let slip two points in Rovers draw

For the third home game running, Town failed to capitalise on their dominance in both general play and the chance-creating department as Rovers withstood their pressure to come away with a point.

It could have been better too when James Norwood's sixth goal of the season steered Tranmere in front early in the second-half, but Junor Morias pulled Cobblers level with his first goal for the club and despite applying subsequent pressure, that's how it ended.

"Frustrating is the word," said Austin afterwards. "We did enough to win the game - again - but you've got to take your chances.

"I didn't think we were as good as we have been at home this season but we had the chances to win the game.

"It's two points dropped but, to be fair, I thought they were a decent side and played some good football.

"I wasn't happy with us out of possession in the first-half and I tried to adjust a couple of things at half-time and we spoke about what we needed to make sure that didn't happen

"We didn't work the goalkeeper enough but we got into the right areas so you've just got to keep believing that it's going to click at some point.

"The players are absolutely gutted. When we draw at home, the boys act like it's a defeat and that says a lot about the expectation we have of ourselves and what we expect."
