Midfielder Missilou, who joined Northampton from Oldham last summer, only signed a short-term deal with relegation rivals Swindon in January.

But the 28-year-old made only 11 appearances for the Robins, eight of which were starts, and was one of 13 players released earlier this week.

Swindon, who will join the Cobblers in League Two next season, have also released the following players: Tom Broadbent, Paul Caddis, Lee Camp, Anthony Cheshire, Ezekiel Fryers, Massimo Giamattei, Anthony Grant, Joel Grant, Hallam Hope, John Johnston, Archie Matthews and Matty Palmer.

Meanwhile, Powell, who spent two seasons at Sixfields between 2017 and 2019, has been let go by Crewe after two successful seasons with the Railwaymen.

Olly Lancashire and Eddie Nolan have also departed Gresty Road.

"We've released them with heavy hearts," said manager David Artell. "Daniel was very good last season but has had a stop-start year and it might have been different had Owen Dale not progressed so well.

"You've got to make these decisions and we wish him all the best."
