A defiant Keith Curle has insisted he is the right man to turn around Town's ailing fortunes despite a fourth successive league defeat on Saturday.

Town were beaten 4-0 for the second time in a week, this time at the hands of Lincoln City, and now have fewer points - 18 - than games played in League One this season, although they do remain outside the bottom four.

Rapidly deteriorating performances, and the fact that other teams have games in hand, means supporters are fearing the worst with the pressure growing on an under-fire Curle.

"I feel the supporters' frustration but what I don't do is shy away from my responsibility," insisted Curle.

"There will be times when they need a focal point for their frustration and let me to tell you now, it's me and I take it and I won't shy away from it.

"I will be out there in the technical area and every day that I work for the football club I will give everything.

"I understand the frustration and I feel for supporters because they deserve to be in this division and we're going to fight for it."

Asked if he thinks he's the man to turn things around, Curle said: "Yes. I know the fans won't be happy with the results but we're still outside the relegation zone and we're in a fight and a battle and there's a lot of games to be played.

"They've got a good manager in charge who won't shy away from challenges."
