Cobblers boss Keith Curle was again left to bemoan his side's defensive 'lapses' after they were beaten 2-1 by Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

Ricky Korboa's second-half strike at least ended Town's barren run in front of goal, however mistakes towards the end of both halves ultimately proved fatal.

Frank Nouble was afforded too much room to head home the opener on 41 minutes and then Kell Watts had just as much room to volley in a late winner.

"It could have been an away point and it could have been all three," rued Curle afterwards.

"In the first-half we set ourselves up to frustrate them and I think we did that and then in the second-half we were very good with the ball and we looked an attacking threat.

"We showed god organisation but it comes down to those key moments like the last four minutes of a game when you've got to do your job, which is block your man and stay with him in the box.

"You can do something about almost every goal you concede but the information was given to the players about what their roles and responsibilities are and it's about the finer details, especially when you step up a division.

"The effort and commitment was excellent and we showed good discipline but we had lapses - we need to sharpen up."
