Defensive pair Joseph Mills and Peter Kioso will both miss Sunday's final game of the season at Sunderland after picking up long-term injuries.

Luton loanee Kioso has been playing through the pain barrier for the past few weeks having struggled with a groin issue. A scan has now revealed the extent of the problem and he will head back to Kenilworth Road for treatment.

Meanwhile, Mills started against Blackpool last weekend despite pulling his calf at Gillingham the previous week, but lasted only eight minutes and had to be carried from the field.

Town's captain has fractured his ankle and will be out for several weeks, though should return for pre-season.

"Unfortunately Peter Kioso is out now," confirmed Jon Brady. "He's had his scan and he's done a double hernia.

"He's been playing through that until we finally got a scan done and that just shows the character and the attitude of the lad because he's put himself out there for us over the last four or five weeks.

"Millsy has fractured part of his ankle but he should be back for the following pre-season in good time. That's not good news but there will be opportunities to have a look at others on Sunday."
