Date for cup clash at Bristol City confirmed

The date for Cobblers' Carabao Cup second-round tie with Bristol City has now been confirmed.

Town's first trip to Ashton Gate in 13 years will take place behind closed doors on Wednesday, September 16th, at 7.45pm.

Cobblers beat Cardiff City in the first round while the Robins defeated Exeter City.

Should the Cobblers progress at Ashton Gate, and should potential third-round opponents Aston Villa defeat Burton Albion, it could make for a congested schedule with Villa due to play Sheffield United in the Premier League on Monday, September 21st, the same week as the third round of the EFL Cup.
