Curle to persist with gung-ho approach to attacking set-pieces

Cobblers boss Keith Curle will continue to send almost every man forward for attacking set-pieces despite his side living on the edge in the last couple of matches.

Ever since he was appointed, Curle has taken a bold approach to corners and free-kicks, often committing every player into or around the opposition's penalty box.

Some opponents have tried to take advantage by leaving several players upfield - four in the case of Forest Green - but so far none have actually managed to catch Town out by scoring on the break.

However, they were fortunate against Swindon last Tuesday when Diallang Jaiyesimi missed two glorious chances on the counter-attack while Walsall also wasted a breakaway opportunity on Saturday.

Curle will persist with the tactic though, saying: "It's not an issue for me because we've got the ball.

"Some of our decision-making when we have the ball needs to improve. If the opposition only put one out against our two, we need to play and create that two v one to draw another man out.

"Then we've got recovery runners. One of the things we picked up on was that our starting position for their first goal wasn't right and that was from our corner.

"Our setup from our corner wasn't right and these are the things that we still need to rehearse and go over in training because we've got possession of the ball and until we're set, we don't play."
