After Storm Dennis and Storm Ellen, it's the turn of Storm Jorge this weekend with gusts of over 50mph, heavy rain and even hailstones forecast for East Lincolnshire.

But Cobblers can have no excuse for not being prepared for such miserable weather after playing in similar conditions against Walsall and Exeter.

"No one knows which way the wind will be blowing or whether it'll be raining or whatever," said manager Keith Curle.

"We're a professional outfit and we'll be prepared. We'll see it as a challenge, whether that's the conditions, the opposition or the referee.

"We take everything face on and we're not scared of anything. Whatever the conditions or the opposition can throw at us, we've got good identity about ourselves and we know we'll face tough challenges."

Curle must also find a solution to his side's recent drop off in form following five defeats in six.

"We need to tidy up on the fine margins and turn them back in our favour," he added. "There were games earlier in the season where we've come out with the result but on the balance of play sometimes we may not have deserved.

"Recently, it's swung the other way but what you need to do to swing it back is continue to work hard.

"We built up a reputation for being strong on set-pieces and we need to get back to doing that because we've got good delivery into the box. Our movement could be better and when when we do make contact, we've got to hit the target."

On the threats of Grimsby, Curle continued: "They have quality and players in their team that can win games.

"Ian will be moulding them into his style. They have tenacious midfield players that can go and get on the ball and like to play forward.

"They've got a focal point through (James) Hanson or (Matt) Green and they play with inverted wide men that want to come inside and play.

"He's very enthusiastic and he wants his team to be the same."
