In an unprecedented turn of events, the EFL and Premier League have suspended all fixtures for at least three weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Cobblers were due to play four games between now and April 4th, two at home and two on the road, but they will have to be rearranged for a later date, providing the season resumes as planned next month.

In the meantime, clubs have been advised not to train for safety reasons. As a result, Curle and his staff have given the squad training programmes to work on over the next few weeks.

"We put a schedule together on Friday morning for the players and they will get programmes to do on a daily basis," said Curle.

"We're aware that the public gyms are probably not the best place for them to visit at the moment so we've got other programmes put in place.

"It's a gentle reminder to the players that, although we are shutting down the organisation for 10 days, we are still professional and when we come back in we need to make sure we hit the ground running.

"We have got a professional mindset and they know they need to keep themselves in good condition but also there are guidelines and if they do feel unwell, they've got to follow the procedure that's been put in place and follow those guidelines."

Asked how he'll spend the time off, Curle said: "My eldest daughter's bedroom will get decorated and my missus has already sent me a list so I'll keep myself active!"
