Keith Curle has not ruled out the prospect of strengthening his squad further this month following the double capture of Ryan Edmondson and Mickel Miller.

Edmondson, a 19-year-old striker, and 25-year-old Miller bolster Town's attacking options after joining the club on loan from Leeds and Rotherham respectively.

But with more than two weeks of the transfer window still to go, Curle and his recruitment team remain on the hunt for players that will strengthen the squad.

Curle said: "We're always looking! But it's constantly an ongoing process with the structure we have in place here and it doesn't just start when the window opens.

"It's not as if the transfer window opens and every club posts a list of all their players that are available. It's a fluid situation and the business that one club does can have a domino effect because a player that wasn't available might then become available.

"We have our finger on the pulse and it's about watching what other football clubs are doing and being aware of what situation other clubs and other players are in.

"You might have a club that has two or three right-backs or two or three left-backs and you're thinking 'well, he might become available' so you have to be aware.

"All clubs have an idea of the squad that they want to use and no club will want to get to the end of January with players sat in the stands who can't be involved on a Saturday. It won't do the player's career any good.

"Some younger players and some development players might not be in the picture right now for clubs in the Premier League and the Championship but for their progression and for their development, they need game-time elsewhere and that might be a step down a division.

"To enhance their development, they would benefit from going out and playing competitive League One football for six months."

Faced with a top-heavy squad, Curle admits one or two players will have to leave the club this month if they want more game-time. The likes of Mark Marshall and Ricky Korboa were struggling for regular starts even before the two new arrivals.

"I have spoken to a number of players who might not have had too much game-time so far this season," said Curle. "I highlighted to them what I think their career needs and they need to be playing games.

"I don't think it's the right time for me to name names but for the players in question, those conversations have been had."
