Keith Curle has given a little more insight into his first two signings of the summer transfer window.

Midfielder Christopher Missilou was first through the PTS Academy Stadium door following Town's play-off final victory, the all-action midfielder joining on a free transfer fro Oldham Athletic.

"Christopher is a very competitive midfield player that I think has got another level to him," said Curle.

"He's very competitive, he wins the ball back, he plays it simple and he's got a great work ethic. As he says in his own words, he likes to fight and that's the type of character that I want in my team.

"He won't be worried or fazed by anyone in the opposition, he sees the ball and he wants to win it back."

Goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell then joined on loan from Derby County.

"He's a good goalkeeper and will add great competition for the goalkeeping spot," added Curle.

"He's played games and he's got experience but I think he's also been unlucky because he came down the pecking order at Derby due to an injury.

"When he came back to fitness, the other lad had stepped up and that's the type of competition you get at a Championship club - if you miss a period of time, you can go down the pecking order quite quickly.

"But we've picked Jonathan up at the right time because the kid's desperate to play and desperate to work and he knows he's got very good competition from Steve Arnold, who showed his truth worth and value at the end of last season."
