Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman expects Keith Curle to come up with a plan to prevent his side from finding their flow when they host Northampton on Saturday.

Accrington have defied their limited resources this season to sit just a place outside the League One play-offs and level on points with big-hitting Sunderland having played two games less.

They stuck six goals past struggling Bristol Rovers in midweek and will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing a Northampton side who have only one win in 10 games in all competitions.

However, despite losing just twice at home this season, Coleman is anticipating a tough game.

“There has been a lot of changes in their personnel since we last played them,” Coleman told the club's website. “We beat Gillingham and then we saw a different Gillingham side here so it will be tough.

"We have to keep preparing for the next team, it’s a progression thing. One team will play differently than the other. Keith has a lot of experience in this league, and in higher and lower leagues, he knows what he is doing.

"He will be aware of the way we are playing and will be coming up with a plan to try and stop us and exploit what he deems to be our weaknesses. It’s a game of cat and mouse and you need a bit of luck along the way.

“It’s a balancing act between not getting carried away and keeping the players high and confident. We need to keep them wanting more and if you enjoy doing something, you want to do it more.”

Cobblers must stop Accrington's lethal strike partnership of Dion Charles and Colby Bishop who have scored 18 league goals between them, only two fewer than Northampton's entire total.
