The Latics are now a point above Town having played the same number of games, but AFC Wimbledon are even better off following an emphatic 3-0 victory over Ipswich.

The Dons are up to 42 points, two clear of the Cobblers, and still have a game in hand.

There was also a much-needed win for bottom side Rochdale who beat Swindon 2-1. They now have 36 points, Swindon have 37, Bristol Rovers have 38 and Northampton are on 40.
