COBBLERS QUIZ: Just for fun... looking back to season 2001/02

Welcome to the third of our regular quizzes focusing on a season in the Cobblers' not too distant past.

Sport is on lockdown for the foreseeable future and the Cobblers, like every other sports team in the country, are currently sat on the sidelines.

So for those of you looking for a little bit of a football fix, we at the Chron are putting together a regular little quiz, focusing on a Town campaign of the past - and it's just a bit of fun.

Today, we are heading to the season from summer, 2001 to May, 2002.

It was a season that started badly - very badly.

A first-half red card and an opening day Sixfields hammering at the hands of Bristol City set the tone, and by the end of September manager Kevin Wilson had been sacked with the team in deep relegation trouble.

Kevan Broadhurst, who had left his role as assistant to Wilson, midway through the previous season, was brought back as manager by chairman Barry Stonhill, and although it was at times a rocky ride, he did enough to steer the Cobblers to a great escape as they survived another season in Nationwide League Division Two.

In the FA Cup there was that horror show in front of the watching nation as the Cobblers were beaten 1-0 at non-League Canvey Island in a second round tie shown live on BBC's Match Of The Day.

But with Town avoiding the drop, the season could still be looked on as something of a success considering the start the team endured.

Anyway, here are 10 questions that all refer to the 2001/02 campaign, with the answers on the final picture, so no cheating!
