COBBLERS QUIZ: Just for fun... looking back to season 2000/2001

Welcome to the second of our regular quizzes focusing on a season in the Cobblers' not too distant past.

Sport is on lockdown for the foreseeable future and the Cobblers, like every other sports team in the country, are currently sat on the sidelines.

So for those of you looking for a little bit of a football fix, we at the Chron are putting together a regular little quiz, focusing on a Town campaign of the past - and it's just a bit of fun.

Today, we are heading to the season from summer, 2000 to May, 2001.

It was a season that started so well, with the bounce of promotion seeing Kevin Wilson's team in and challenging for the Nationwide League play-off places until the turn of the year.

Jamie Forrester, signed permanently for a chunky £150,000 from FC Utrecht in the summer following his successful loan spell the previous season, was on fire in the goalscoring stakes, and the team was playing with confidence.

But at the start of 2001, it all started to go wrong, as Forrester's goals dried up somewhat and the team struggled for results.

Another summer signing, Marco Gabbiadini, failed to produce the goal rush expected from him, and in the end the Cobblers were grateful to stay in the division - their early season results enough to keep them clear of the bottom four.

Here are 10 questions that all refer to the 2000/2001 campaign, with the answers on the final picture, so no cheating!
