Ten first-team players are out of contract now the season has ended, although the club have an option on three of them. Here's where we stand ahead of confirmation of the retained list....
5. Steve Arnold
Started the season as Town's number one but, as with Sheehan, he has succumbed to injury since the turn of the year, not even making the bench in any of the last 12 matches. Will likely be let go.
6. Alex Jones
A tricky one. Looked so lively when he first came in but then went off the boil a little, missing two big chances against Gillingham and Blackpool. The fact he didn't even get on the pitch at Sunderland may suggest Cobblers will not retain his services.
7. Mark Marshall
Another tough call. He was a regular when Brady was first appointed but was then in and out of the team. Now 34, Cobblers may look elsewhere as they begin the process of building a squad for League Two.
8. Matty Warburton
Started the season so well, scoring twice in his first three games, but then left on loan to Yeovil for the remainder of the season. Brady might want to take a look at him in League Two, but chances are he will be released now his contract is up.
