Cobblers name starting XI and subs for Leicester City friendly

Chris Hogg has named his starting XI for today’s opening pre-season friendly against Leicester City.

Two trialists are involved, including one starter, while all five summer signings also feature, as well as some youth team players. Midfielder Liam Shaw is one of two senior players not involved due to soreness – but he is expected to train fully when Cobblers head to St George’s Park for a training camp next week. Right-back Jack Burroughs has a minor knock.

Saturday’s game kicks off at midday and is taking place at Leicester’s training ground in Loughborough.

Cobblers starting XI v Leicester City: Jeacock, Donacien, Moore, McCarthy, Opiela (youth player), Perkins, Grand Ward (trialist), Hoskins, Fornah, Dobson, Saunders. Subs: Fitzsimons, Wormleighton, Dyche, Guthrie, Maxwell, Lennon Wheeldon (trialsit), George Daldy (youth team player), Campbell, Briggs, List, Swyer.

Leicester XI: Vietes, Aluko, Okoli, Nelson, Thomas, Carr, Alves, Choudhury (C), Page, Mavididi, Otchere. Subs: Stolarczyk, Joseph, Faes, Gray, Wilson-Brown, Coulibaly, Skipp, Braybrooke, De Cordova-Reid, Evans, Opoku, Hutchinson.
