Keith Curle says the Cobblers have received 'a number of enquiries' for several players amid more rumours linking striker Harry Smith with a move away from the club.

Gloucestershire Live have this morning reported that Cheltenham Town are to miss out on Smith with one of Town's League One rivals supposedly close to agreeing a deal for the 25-year-old.

Chris Lines and Luka Racic have already departed Town this month and the club are hoping to offload one or two more players, particularly in attack, but Curle would not go into specifics.

"We've had a number of enquiries for a few players but any move would have to be right for the player, for the club and for myself," said Curle.

"It's natural that clubs will evolve and some players will move on while others stay on the journey but the important thing is not to fall out.

"If players are not getting game-time, I'm mindful of the fact that they need to be playing and they want to be playing, especially if they're coming into their last six months of their contract.

"The best way for them to showcase themselves to other clubs is by playing games and sometimes that means they will have to go and get game-time at another football club."
