Curle's men to kick-off new season with home tie at the PTS

Cobblers will start the 2020/21 season with a home tie against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup.

Keith Curle's side were paired with the Championship outfit in Tuesday's first-round draw, which was broadcast live on Sky Sports News.

Neil Harris' Bluebirds made the Championship play-offs last season but lost to eventual winners Fulham in the semi-final.

Cobblers last met Cardiff in 2012 in the same compettion, winning 2-1 through goals from David Artell and Alex Nicholls.

The ties will take place over the weekend of September 5/6.
