Cobblers duo Nicky Adams and Charlie Goode have both been named in the League Two Team of the Year for the 2019/20 campaign.

The PFA awards, as voted for by fellow professionals, were announced on Tuesday evening, later than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Goode may have since moved on to pastures new after joining Brentford last month but it's no surprise to see his efforts with the Cobblers rewarded. He played 45 times in 2019/20 and captained Town to victory in the League Two play-offs. He gets into the team at centre-back alongside fellow ex-Cobbler Ben Tozer.

Adams, meanwhile, was another influential figure during the season, racking up 12 assists in all, behind only to Charlie Kirk and Randell Williams. He makes midfield in the PFA team alongside Antoni Sarcevic and Danny Mayor.

"Always an honour to be voted into the PFA team of the year alongside some very good players," Adams tweeted. "Big thank you to my team mates and all the staff at Northampton as you don’t get this without them. Very proud."

League Two team of the year: Alex Palmer (Plymouth), Perry Ng (Crewe), Ben Tozer (Cheltenham), Charlie Goode (Northampton), Randell Williams (Exeter), Antoni Sarcevic, Danny Mayor (both Plymouth), Nicky Adams (Northampton), Charlie Kirk (Crewe), Eoin Doyle, Jerry Yates (both Swindon).
