Cobblers are yet to begin talks with manager Keith Curle over extending his current contract at the club, which is set to expire at the end of the season.

Curle is Cobblers' longest-serving manager since Chris Wilder after he replaced Dean Austin in October 2018, signing an 18-month deal.

The former Carlisle, Notts County and Mansfield manager lifted the club away from relegation trouble during his first season in charge and now has them in contention for promotion.

Town are currently eighth in Sky Bet League Two and outside the play-offs on goal difference only but have lost their last four games in all competitions.

As well as Curle, Cobblers are also yet to open talks with the numerous players whose contacts expire at the end of the season, including Jordan Turnbull, Sam Hoskins, Andy Williams, Vadaine Oliver and Paul Anderson.

"We've had a busy period recently and because of that, no contract talks have gone on between myself and the football club," Curle confirmed.

"And no talks have gone on between myself and any of the players who are in the same situation as me.

"When the dust settles and everybody's got a clear head and we know where we're all going, then it will be an opportunity to address where the club is going with regards to the players and also my contract."
