Cobblers boss Curle delighted as he lands 'powerful' striker Ashley-Seal

Keith Curle believes Benny Ashley-Seal has a bright future ahead of him after the youngster joined the Cobblers on a two-year deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 21-year-old striker becomes Town's ninth signing of the summer and will compete alongside Harry Smith and Joe Nuttall at the top end of the pitch.

Ashley-Seal was highly thought of at Wolves but the club's European ambitions meant opportunities would be limited this season, and Curle is hoping their loss will be Northampton's gain.

"We've seen him in training and he's a big, strong, powerful lad who can score goals and he's got good ability," said Curle.

"He's nowhere near finished the journey that I think he'll go on. He's a young man with a very good upbringing and comes from a very good environment but this is now a step for him to create a profile for himself with all the attributes he's got.

"He's good on the ball, he's a physical presence, he's powerful, he's got good technique and he's got the ability to score goals and he's also got a hunger about himself.

"He'll have to slightly change the way he's been playing because in my opinion he's been playing in a way that doesn't showcase some of his best assets, but he did well on loan last season and that shows he can play men's football.

"The move here is the next step and a chance for him to progress."
