Cobblers are back up to a full complement of players and staff members after physio Ignacio Herrando returned a second consecutive negative test for coronavirus.

Players and staff were tested again earlier in the week and the results came back clear for a third straight time, allowing for training to continue.

The club confirmed: "Following the most recent round of COVID-19 testing that took place on Tuesday, we are pleased to confirm that all Northampton Town players and staff again tested negative.

"Physio Ignacio Herrando recorded a second consecutive negative test and is now able to rejoin the group.

"The squad are continuing to train in preparation for the play offs in accordance with the EFL's return to training protocol."

The EFL said in their own statement: "Following the latest round of COVID-19 testing, the EFL can confirm that 135 players and club staff were tested from four League Two clubs over the course of Sunday 7 June, Monday 8 June and Tuesday 9 June with zero individuals testing positive."
