Cobblers' attacking duo singled out by Grimsby as they prepare for a physical test

Girmsby Town's Anthony Limbrick has become the latest opposition coach to warn his side about Northampton's 'physical' threat ahead of tomorrow's game at Blundell Park.

The Mariners assistant boss also believes Sam Hoskins and Nicky Adams could hold the key as the Cobblers seek an immediate return to winning ways after losing to Cheltenham in midweek.

But they're unlikely to have it easy against one of the form teams in the division. Only four sides have a better record than Grimsby since Ian Holloway was appointed manager at the turn of the year.

They've won three of their last four, including Tuesday's 4-2 home victory over Newport County, and currently sit 14th in Sky Bet League Two.

"Northampton have done great this season," Limbrick told the Grimsby Telegraph when filling in for Holloway at the club's pre-match press conference. "I think Keith Curle’s got them really organised and playing well.

"We had a tough game at their place – they’re very good from set-plays, very organised, they’re a good, strong, physical team. They play that 3-5-2 system quite well, they’ve got some good players like the boy (Sam) Hoskins. He’s been playing a bit more up front so it’ll be interesting to see whether he plays there.

"Adams, their wide player, I think is one of the best crossers in the league. They’re quite solid at the back with (Charlie) Goode and (Jordan) Turnbull, so I think they’ve got some experienced players, but they also have a really clear style and it’s definitely going to be a tough one."

Defender Harry Davis could be in contention to face Northampton after returning to training this week but Jordan Cook and Jake Hessenthaler remain in the treatment room.
