As a player, Foyle played more than 550 games representing Southampton, Aldershot, Oxford United and Port Vale, while he gained considerable experience as a manager and a coach at Vale, York City, Hereford United, Southport and Bristol Rovers.
Foyle will get straight down to work spearheading Cobblers' transfer plans this summer.
