Breaking: Two in a week for Cobblers as club confirm seventh summer signing
Cobblers have signed midfielder Connor Lemonheigh-Evans on an initial two-year contract.
The 29-year-old, a free agent after leaving MK Dons at the end of last season, is a versatile player who has primarily operated as an attacking midfielder across his career, which spans seven clubs and over 250 appearances. He is Northampton’s seventh summer signing and second in a week after striker Matty Warhurst.

The two-time League Two promotion winner is not expected to be involved in tonight’s friendly against Southend United as he begins an individualised training programme before potentially featuring for the first time at the weekend.
Born in Swansea, Lemonheigh-Evans began his development with Bristol City after joining their academy in 2012, and went on to sign his first professional contract with the club, but it was a loan spell at Torquay United that kick-started his career.
After impressing at Plainmoor, Lemonheigh-Evans made the move permanent in 2020 and became a key figure for the Gulls, scoring 21 goals in 81 appearances. Named Torquay’s Player of the Season in 2020/21, his performances earned him a move to Stockport County in 2022, where he helped the club win promotion to League Two as champions two years ago.
After loan spells with Notts County and AFC Wimbledon, he joined MK Dons in 2024, playing 27 times last season as they won automatic promotion from League Two. The Welshman has also represented Wales at youth and Under-21 level, where he earned three caps and scored twice.
