Cobblers have made their second signing of the day with the capture of Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson on loan.

The 19-year-old front man, who made his Leeds first-team debut in the Championship at the age of 16, will spend the rest of the season at the PTS Academy Stadium.

He has been a prolific scorer for United's youth teams and netted 20 goals to help United U23s win the Premier League Professional Development League title in 2019.

Aberdeen were keen to extend his stay after he spent the first half of this season on loan in the SPL but with a host of clubs interested in the former England U19 international, he has made the move to Northampton.

It is the second time Curle has tried to sign Edmondson. He was keen on the teenager last summer but Leeds opted to send him north of the border.

Edmondson will not take up a place in Town's 22-man squad as he is under the age of 21.
