Cobblers boss Jon Brady has been impressed by the high standard of pitches at Moulton College during the first week of pre-season.

Town's players were back out on the grass this week as Brady and his coaching staff put them through their paces ahead of next Saturday's opening friendly at Sileby Rangers.

Northampton will train full-time at Moulton College this season after the club's groundstaff worked hard on improving the pitches both there and at Sixfields over the summer.

"It has been great to be at Moulton," said Brady. "This is our working area and this will make the times when we come back to Sixfields on matchdays extra special.

"Paul Knowles and his team have worked really hard on both the training pitches and the pitch at Sixfields and the pitches we have at Moulton are the best we have ever had. They are top class."

It's all eyes on Fernie Fields next weekend when supporters - finally allowed back in grounds again - will get their first glimpse of Town's eight summer signings.

"The Sileby game next week will about making some connections on the pitch and also connecting us back to the fans," Brady added.

"It will be great to see fans back at games and for the fans to see the new players, the new staff and to also get to see some the players we have had at the club for some time now.

"It will be good to bring everyone back together and for me that is what I am looking forward to most next week."
