Cobblers trio Jordan Willis, Luke Mbete and Tariqe Fosu are all making good progress as they work their way back from injury.

All three players picked up injuries of varying severity during the 2-2 draw against Barnsley last month. Fosu came off in the second half and Mbete was seen hobbling at the end of the game, but the most concern was over Willis who had to be substituted before half-time due to a knee problem.

The centre-back has seen a specialist though and there is confidence that the injury is not as bad as first feared. Fosu and Mbete could potentially be in contention to face Wycombe this weekend as Cobblers return to action following a pause due to the international break.

"Luke and Tariqe are coming back,” said Brady. “Whether this weekend comes too soon, only time will tell on that but we are hopeful that they will be fit and available soon.

"Jordan has had a scan and the specialist has seen him and there are things being done and quite possibly he could already be back on the grass next week, which would be really good news. We will see how that goes and then go from there.

"We obviously didn’t have a game at the weekend so we’ve tried to do everything we can to make sure the players are at the right level and ready to go again. Some players needed to rest, some needed to work harder and others are coming back from niggles so we’ve tried to find a balance and hopefully we’ve managed that.”
