Jon Brady has promised Cobblers' 'incredible' supporters that he will do 'everything possible' to keep the club in Sky Bet League One this season.

Supporters up and down the land are having to watch their teams from home with matches still played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, something that will likely continue for a while yet.

But caretaker boss Brady, as well as assistants Ian Sampson and Marc Richards, are well aware of the passion and loyalty of Cobblers fans and they will all be doing their utmost to drag the team out of the bottom four and ensure they remain in the third tier next season.

"We miss them massively and we miss that connection," said Brady. "The energy our fans bring is incredible. I was assistant to Dean Austin a couple of years ago and I saw that first-hand.

"I haven't witnessed that before in terms of the passion and the support for a League One club and the numbers they travel in all over the country - 500, 600, 700 at times. We want to get that connection and the only way we can do that at the moment is through our performances.

"Our performances have been really positive and potentially we could have got three points from every game so far. We haven't and we know we've got to turn the performances into three points to give the people of Northamptonshire something to be proud of.

"My three children were born in Northamptonshire so I like to think I'm an adopted Northamptonian and it's the same for Rico and Sammo. It means a lot to us because this is our county.

"I've won promotion with three clubs in this county and we will do everything in our power - and I mean everything we possibly can - to maintain our League One status and keep our fans absolutely buzzing that we're a League One football club."
