Boss Brady left disappointed as Cobblers fail to take their chances

Jon Brady admitted he was disappointed not to register his first win as caretaker boss on Tuesday evening when the Cobblers were held to a goalless draw by Rochdale.

Town slipped to second-from-bottom in Sky Bet League One after firing another blank at home and extending their winless run to 11 matches in all competitions.

They did have the better chances at a wind-swept PTS with Ryan Watson, Mark Marshall and Ryan Edmondson all going close, although Kwadwo Baah almost won it for Rochdale late on.

"It's frustrating not to win," said Brady. "We had six shots on target and two one-on-ones whereas they only had one chance all game.

"I'm disappointed not to have won but I'm pleased we managed the game properly to see it out because that was a problem at MK Dons on Saturday.

"Of course we want to get three points - we're desperate for three points - but it's just so tight down there at the moment.

"There's three points between seven teams and there will be twists and turns and bumps along the way, but again we've had more chances than the opposition.

"It was a difficult night for both teams with that howling wind and the pitch is cutting up.

"They did brilliantly to get it in the state it was in, but towards the end and in the second-half, you could see it cutting up and we're trying to pass the ball out there.

"Again, we've had more possession than the opposition so we're keeping the ball well and looking after it better, but it's got to be purposeful possession and we need to be slicker and quicker when we're trying to play the way we are."
