Blackpool will assess injured pair Grant Ward and Sullay Kaikai before tomorrow's trip to Northampton.

Ward was forced off during Pool's midweek win at Sunderland while Kaikai has been struggling with a hamstring injury.

Blackpool are already without Daniel Gretarsson, Matty Virtue, CJ Hamilton and Gary Madine.

“Grant Ward obviously came off near the end after feeling his calf a little bit, so he’ll be assessed today,” said manager Neil Critchley.

“Sullay Kaikai just felt something in his hamstring, so they are both muscle injuries. The physical exertion has a lot to do with that, obviously.

“They’ll be assessed today, but we’re certainly not ruling them out for the weekend.”

Former Cobbler Keshi Anderson, who has been out for four months through injury, continues his recovery and is close to a return, but this weekend will come too soon.

“Keshi has been so driven to get back as quickly as possible and wants to play a part,” Critchley added.

“He loves football and doesn’t like it when he’s not playing. He’s constantly telling me that he wants to be involved and he’s ready, but we have to give consideration to how long he’s been out, and the amount of training and type of training we can get into him, but we don’t have a long period either.

“We’ll have to have a discussion of when it’s the best time for him to be involved in the squad.”
