Andy Whing reveals Brackley Town ‘sales pitch’ as new signings praise Saints project
Brackley Town’s new-look squad for the 2026/27 season is taking shape, with a host of first-choice targets secured ahead of the Saints’ return to the National League North.
Andy Whing’s side suffered a devastating relegation from the National League at the end of last campaign, however they are determined to bounce back as quickly as possible.

Just two of last term’s squad - Kyle Morrison and Matt Lowe - remain, with everyone else a new additions. Eight signings have been completed so far, with many more to come.
Those who have joined are defenders Will Armitage, Kieran Coates, Josh Tomlinson and George Harmon, midfielders Charlie Cooper and Ewan Williams and strikers Tahvon Campbell and DJ Sturridge.
It’s difficult to land top targets at any level, especially in non-league, so Whing has done a brilliant job alongside recruitment chiefs Joe Taylor and Gareth Dean.
Reflecting on the Saints’ successful business so far, Whing told @BrackleyTownFC: “I’ve got used to the sales pitch now, talking to players on the phone!
“I want to be honest and ambitious, and I want the lads to be demanding of me. Everyone I have spoken to has been exactly like that. They buy into it really well.”
During spells at previous clubs Solihull Moors and Barrow, Whing has developed a good track record of developing young talent. The boss hopes to do the same at St James Park.
Whing added: “When I was in League Two, we had players go up to League One. When I was in the National League, it was into League Two.
“There are a lot of young players. Hopefully we can do that with them. If that happens, it will only take the club forward.
“Recruitment-wise, it helps because we’re getting players into the next level which will take us to the next level.
“People will see that from afar and will want to come here and expect the same thing. I try to get that over to the lads, being honest and truthful of what we expect from them.”
