Manager Keith Curle believes Fraser Horsfall's attributes and attitude will make him a 'great fit' for the Cobblers.

The 23-year-old centre-back has joined the club on a two-year contract from Macclesfield Town, subject to EFL approval.

Horsfall worked his way up through non-league before playing 31 times for the Silkmen last season.

"Fraser is a player who is learning and developing the art of defending and is someone we have identified as being on an upward curve," said Curle.

"I like his character and the way he has approached his own development. He is an ambitious young man. His decision to leave Huddersfield Town to go and play first team football for Kidderminster a couple of years ago shows what he is all about.

"He took himself out of his comfort zone to further his career and to go and play senior football and he quickly stepped up again to play league football.

"He is determined to keep improving, to take on challenges head on and to keep developing and we think he can do that with us.

"He is competitive, aggressive and he likes defending. He has taken accountability and responsibility for his own development and his own career and I like that strength of mind and that determination.

"I think he is a great fit for us and we are a great fit for him at this stage of his career."
