Joe Pigott s scrappy late goal settled a poor game and dealt a major blow to Town's survival hopes. Here are our player ratings from Plough Lane...

He came to McWilliams' rescue with a good one v one save against Longman and was not tested again until very late on when he badly misjudged the flight of Alexander's corner... 5
Involved in the thick of the action at both ends. Very unlucky to see his attempted clearance hit Pigott and rebound into the net before he was tripped in the other penalty box, only for the spot-kick to be squandered. One of few players on either side to have a decent game... 6

His tussle with Pigott was a good one as the two men locked horns throughout. He had restricted Dons' top scorer and main weapon to nothing in the way of clear chances until his fortunate winning goal... 6.5
A big reason for why it remained still goalless at half-time, making two important first-half blocks. Battled on through injury in the second 45 minutes and another crucial block looked to have preserved another clean sheet... 7 CHRON STAR MAN
Cobblers relied on their full-backs to create width and offer a threat going forward, especially when they switched to a diamond at half-time, but his delivery and quality in the final third was disappointing... 4.5
Very lucky to get away with an astray first-half pass that sent Longman through on goal. Didn't have many options on the ball as Town were outnumbered before half-time, but better in the second 45 and linked well with Kioso on the right... 5
Struggled in the first-half like many of his team-mates but was better after the break, looking to get on the ball and spread the play to either wing... 5.5
He was dangerous when he got the ball at his feet and drove forward, but that didn't happen anywhere near enough for his or the team's liking. Bit of a peripheral figure for a lot of the game... 4.5
He was Town's most lively attacking player before half-time, although that's by no means a ringing endorsement given how flat the visitors were. Was hooked at the break as Brady changed shape... 5
Had a quiet afternoon but was given the opportunity to salvage a point, only to hit a tame penalty too close to Tzanev, going from hero to zero after his midweek winner. He's not the first and certainly won't be the last to miss a penalty, but it was a bad time to squander his first for the Cobblers... 4
Another wholehearted shift up top, but too many times this season he's come off the pitch having had nothing created for him in the penalty box... 5
Despite Town's second-half improvement, he was only ever on the fringes of the game and squandered one of precious few opportunities when neither passing nor shooting in the penalty box... 4.5
Not a lot to go on... 5
On in injury-time... n/a
