NCL ROUND-UP: Skipper Wolstenholme in a hurry as Saints thrash Stony

In a rain-affected clash, Stony had found batting on the Birchfield Road East track a difficult task as they laboured to 82 for nine from their 33 overs.

Corbyn Dolley claimed three for 24, Ali Hasnain two for 15 and Chris Harris two for 25.

And where Stony struggled, Saints prospered with Wolstenholme hammering eight sixes in his innings to see his side to victory in just 7.2 overs, with Jack Mousley adding 20 not out from the other end.

Horton House claimed a draw in their big clash at Peterborough, but it wasn’t pretty.

Posh batted first and declared on 157 for four, leaving 35 overs for Horton to negotiate.

Early wickets fell which took any ambition out of Horton’s game, and they shut up shop to claim a share of the spoils at 39 for seven, Charlie MacDonnell digging in for 15 not out.

Old Northamptonians and Finedon played out an entertaining draw.

With rain reducing the match to 30 overs per side, ONs got cracking and totalled 198 for five, thanks to 58 not out from just 27 balls for Martyn Cory, 42 from Northants man David Willey, and 27 from Richard Kaufman.

Finedon gave the run chase a decent crack, but they came up short at 167 for six.

Tom Webb was the pick of the bowlers for ONs, taking three for 37, while Willey took two for 50 from nine overs.

A low-scoring game between Brixworth and Oundle was won by the latter, who squeezed home by two wickets.

Brixworth scored 108 for seven in 34 overs, with Alex Lacey hitting 29 and Toby Cowley 22.

Batting was not easy and Oundle also struggled, but they managed to reach 109 for eight in 24.4 overs to win.

For Brixworth, Fred Newborough claimed three for 27 and Ross McLean three for 39.
