Sunday’s leg saw ‘Horse surge through – despite not getting a man in the individual frame – to win and draw level with Browning overall. RAF were third on the day to maintain their third in league ranking.

Top weight went to Owen Lester (Browning) who had 50-9 from the Brickyard with ‘Ashby A’s Roly MacEneany on 32-6, followed by Browning’s Ian Drage on 28-12 from Grendon.

FISHING the Ouse for the ‘first time in years’ gave Wayne Robinson a real blast as, in Sunday’s Nene-Towcester match on DATS’ Stony Stratford section, he won with 27-7 of chunky perch followed, a long way back, by George Mynard 10-8 and Les Wallace 6-6.A mile downstream on MKAA’s Stone Park, another Ouse match was won with 39-6 which included chub of 6-3, 5-10 and 5lb – plus a rake of silvers, perch...and two-ounce gudgeon! Plenty of others struggled in both matches...but in some swims the upper Ouse is on fire!

THE Nene came good for Geoff Eade in Finedon’s Woodford weir do as he won with 13-4 of silvers. Pat Neale had 10-1 and John Sumpter 5-7.

FORGET the old saying – crime DID pay for Abington when a ‘community payback’ team helped remove red signal crays from their park lake. So far they’ve netted out more than a hundred, for which the club is grateful.
