More than just a school – CCS strives to develop young people into ambitious, highly successful, happy and resilient young adults
Caroline Chisholm School is a safe, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment, where everyone is valued, respected, and supported for wellbeing and success. The highly successful school is proud of its academic achievements, but also of its dedication to the wellbeing of all its pupils, and of keeping the local community at its heart.
Our values of ambition, confidence and success underpin all we do. We view all our students as high performers, both in their academic achievements and their personal development. Our curriculum is challenging, engaging and enriched by an impressive range of extra-curricular opportunities and experiences that equip our students to be responsible citizens in an ever-changing and competitive world.
He added: “By choosing Caroline Chisholm School, you can be assured that your child’s wellbeing will be our highest priority. Our students receive the pastoral care and guidance they need to thrive and strive in every aspect of their education.”
Prospective students, parents and carers are warmly invited to discover for themselves just what life at Caroline Chisholm School is like, and what opportunities it offers, at the Year 7 open evening on September 26. For times or to book click here.
Join the family
The school opened just 20 years ago, in 2024, and was the first purpose-built all-through state school in England, catering for students from EYS to Year 13. More than 2,000 students attend the school, which has over 220 staff and a designated specialist provision for children with autistic spectrum disorders.
“We have created a family feel to our community. Our students seamlessly transition from one stage of their education to the next. Parents and carers can be confident that not only will children starting in reception get off to a flying start with our outstanding Foundation Stage provision, but that their educational journey will continue to Year 7 and beyond,” said David.
The school believes success comes from excellent teaching and happy and motivated pupils who have ambitions to succeed because they want to achieve… There is also the fantastic benefit of cross-phase learning opportunities in primary phase, where children can enjoy the use of our specialist teaching facilities within the secondary phase learning environment, including science labs, drama studio, technology workshops, as well as our state-of-the-art cookery rooms.
Outside the classroom
Extra-curricular activities are just as much a part of everyday school life here, as lessons in the classrooms or on the sports pitches.
There is a learning resource centre which is open to pupils from Mondays to Wednesdays until 4.30pm, so that any pupils who want to continue working in school after the final bell can do so.
From dance to cricket; yoga club to performing arts; science to orchestra there is a wide range of timetabled extra-curricular activities which change each term. If your child loves chess or creative writing; badminton or books; rounders or Dungeons and Dragons they will find something to interest them at one of the out-of-hours clubs or activities. It’s a great way to make friends with those that share your interests and a chance to mix with students from other years too.
Pastoral care – looking after the wellbeing of students – is key at Caroline Chisholm School and embedded into school life. There is a dedicated whole-school inclusion team which works closely with parents and students to ensure the approach to education is equally ambitious for all pupils, including those with additional or special educational needs or disabilities.
