From country parks and stately homes to woodland adventures and beach walks, a National Trust family membership could help keep the kids entertained all summer long for less than £10 a month.

With the six-week summer holidays fast approaching, many Northamptonshire families will be searching for affordable ways to keep children entertained.

A National Trust family membership could offer one of the best-value options, giving unlimited access to more than 500 historic houses, gardens and outdoor spaces across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Available from the equivalent of just £9.10 a month when paid by annual Direct Debit, the membership allows families to enjoy everything from countryside walks and picnic spots to castles, coastlines and family-friendly trails throughout the year.

There are two family membership options available.

A one-adult family membership costs £109.20 a year, or £9.10 a month by annual Direct Debit, and includes one adult plus all named children or grandchildren aged 17 and under.

A two-adult family membership costs £176.40 a year, or £14.70 a month by annual Direct Debit, covering two adults living at the same address and all named children or grandchildren aged 17 and under.

Children under the age of five can visit for free.

Membership also comes with a range of additional benefits beyond free entry to National Trust sites. Members receive free parking at most National Trust car parks, a National Trust Handbook packed with information on places to visit, and National Trust Magazine three times a year, with both print and digital editions available.

Those taking out a new membership online by annual Direct Debit will also receive a complimentary guest pass, allowing them to bring a friend or family member along on a visit, subject to terms and conditions.

With attractions ranging from grand country estates and landscaped gardens to forests, beaches and wildlife-rich countryside, a membership could quickly pay for itself over the course of the summer holidays – especially for families planning multiple days out.

Families can find out more and sign up through the National Trust membership page.
