My greatest fear after I paint my nails is a chip or nail breakage which ruins my fresh manicure, but I’ve found a perfect gadget from Mylee for gel manicure touch-ups which has been an absolute life-saver.
One of my favourite ways to pamper myself at home is to give myself a gel manicure, especially when I’m going to a party or an event. You just can’t beat a manicure which lasts at least two weeks.
But, even a gel manicure will eventually chip as nothing lasts forever. That first chip always hurts the most because the rest of my nails are still perfect and I think it’s such a shame to have to take it all off just for one small imperfection. I always have my nails painted, so this is my beauty must-have and it lives in my make-up bag and goes with me everywhere when I travel - whether I’m going on holiday, away for the weekend, or just visiting a family member overnight.

It’s so simple to use, I just do my touch-up with my gel nail varnish, shine the torch on it for a couple of minutes and then get on with what I’m doing.

If you’re like me, your manicure actually lasts a lot longer than the two week minimum - I have no idea why this is, but I’ve been told by nail techicians that I have good strong nails. Well the Mylee Fix 'N' Flash LED Torch is perfect for that too. I’ve also filled in the bottom of my nails countless times using the gadget too. Now, the touched up area can be obvious at close range with some nail varnishes, which is to be expected as it’s been cured at a different time. How obvious it will look depends entirely on the nail varnish you have used, but I have never found it to be a huge issue. The main thing is that from afar it looks absolutely fine - and the only person who will really see your nails close up is you!
Tip tip though for filling in at the bottom - use a different but complimentary colour to our original manicure and it’ll look like you’ve had a fresh mani! I’ve been asked multiple times if I’ve done my nails again when I’ve done this. I’m a pink girly, so my favourite touched up look is to fill silver glitter in at the bottom of an originally fully pink nail look and create an ombre effect to help it blend better.
