Amazon’s £39.99 heated clothes airer deal includes a cover and 18 drying tubes

A foldable heated clothes airer with an included drying cover has dropped to £39.99 on Amazon, giving households a cheaper indoor laundry option as wet weather and full washing baskets collide in the usual British fashion.

The PurKeep Heated Clothes Airer with Cover is listed as a limited-time deal at £39.99, down from an RRP of £79.99. That works out as a 50% saving at the time of writing, with Amazon also showing more than 400 bought in the past month.

It is the kind of deal likely to appeal to anyone trying to get clothes dry indoors without relying on radiators or using a tumble dryer for every load. The heated drying rack has 18 heated tubes and a foldable wing design, giving users room to spread out garments while keeping the unit compact enough for flats, utility rooms, bathrooms and smaller homes.

The included cover is one of the more useful features at this price. PurKeep says the thermal cover helps trap heat and increase drying efficiency by 30% compared with open heated airers. The brand recommends wringing clothes thoroughly before placing them on the electric clothes airer, which should help speed things along and avoid asking the airer to do all the heavy lifting.

The PurKeep electric clothes dryer is made from aluminium and plastic and is designed to fold away when not in use. Amazon lists the product dimensions as 147cm deep, 94cm wide and 54cm high, while the manufacturer information also says it folds flat to just 5.5cm depth. That slim folded size should make it easier to slide under a bed, behind a door or into a cupboard between laundry days.

For larger households, the 18-tube design gives it more drying space than smaller heated rails. It is not going to replace the capacity of a full tumble dryer, but the foldable heated airer could be useful for everyday clothing, school uniforms, workwear, towels and lighter fabrics when outdoor drying is not an option.

The listing says the airer maintains temperature control for indoor drying without damaging garments, although buyers should still check care labels before placing delicate fabrics on any heated rack. The brand says it can also be used as a normal clothes airer without the cover, which gives it a bit more flexibility when heating is not needed.

Running at 230W, the PurKeep heated clothes airer is positioned as an energy-efficient alternative to traditional tumble drying. It comes with a 140cm power cord, which should allow some flexibility with placement, although users will still need to set it up close enough to a suitable socket.

Amazon shows a 3.8-star rating from 24 reviews, so it does not have the same large review base as some long-established laundry gadgets. However, the recent sales figure gives the deal some extra relevance for households looking at indoor drying options while the price is cut.

The Amazon heated airer deal also includes free returns at the time of writing, which may reassure buyers comparing different heated drying racks. As ever, it is worth checking the latest price, delivery details and any promotional terms before ordering, as limited-time Amazon deals can change quickly.

For £39.99, this looks like a practical laundry buy for anyone who wants a covered heated airer that folds away neatly and gives damp washing somewhere better to go than every radiator in the house.
