Sturgeon has faced calls to resign from Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross, who has said his party plans to submit a vote of no confidence.

When will Nicola Sturgeon appear before the inquiry - and how can I watch?

The First Minister will give evidence today, Wednesday 3 March, from 9am. The session is expected to last several hours.

You can watch a live stream of the speech here.

Alternatively, you can also watch the inquiry on the Scottish Parliament’s TV service.

‘False and baseless claims’

Ahead of her appearance before the Holyrood committee, Sturgeon has said that she was looking forward to confronting the claims made about her “head on”.

Speaking at First Minister’s Questions, she said: “I’ve had accusations levelled at me for two years.

“I’ve not been able to answer those fully because of ongoing criminal proceedings and latterly out of respect to the process of this committee.

“It’s not me that’s refusing to sit in front of the committee - I’m relishing the prospect of doing that.

“Then people can hear my account and they can make up their own minds.”

During a Scottish Government Covid-19 briefing last week, Sturgeon added: “I want to get in front of this committee to answer every and all questions that people have of me, to address all the issues that people have and to rebut, frankly, head on and very directly, some of the wild, untrue, false and baseless claims.”
