Police were informed of an incident that occurred at about 3pm on Tuesday, January 23, where a woman is alleged to have grabbed a 10-year-old girl’s arm in Brixworth while shouting her name.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police today revealed: “The incident was reported to police the next day and has been recorded as an assault and is being investigated by detectives from CID.

“The woman involved was with a younger child at the time of the incident and enquiries are on-going to establish her identity.

“This incident is not being linked to any other incident.

“Our primary concern remains ensuring that all children in Northamptonshire are protected from harm and we would still like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information."
