Woman airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following incident on a main road in Northampton

Police received calls about the welfare of a woman in Duston on Friday afternoon

Emergency crews on scene at New Sandy Lane, Duston

Emergency services including police, ambulance and air ambulance crews attended the scene this afternoon (Friday).

A police spokesman said: “Northamptonshire Police attended an incident in New Sandy Lane near Duston at about 3.30pm today, Friday, after calls about the welfare of a woman in the area.

“Paramedics also attended the scene and a woman has been airlifted to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.”

According to local reports, the road has since reopened although Northamptonshire Police are unable to confirm this at the time of publication.
