The festival, held on the Racecourse, was the first organised by Showtime Events Group and included camel racing, stunt shows, medieval jousting, dog shows, fireworks and hot air balloons.

Dave Bailey, a partner of Showtime Events Group, said: "We were so pleased to see the balloons brought back to the Racecourse and to bring Northampton it’s very first Northampton Town Festival.

"It was a happy moment when we saw the balloons flying across Northampton again and we were very pleased that the weather was kind enough to us on the Sunday to allow us to do this.

"Being the first event, we think that the most important thing for us to do now is to review what people loved about the festival and also what we could improve on for next year to make sure that next year’s event is even bigger and better.

"We want to give the people what they want and this is our main focus for next year.

"Thanks to everyone that supported us and came to the event. We look forward to seeing you next year!"
