Pictures: Northampton enjoys hot weather as country slowly comes out of lockdown

Temperatures rose to 21°C this afternoon (Tuesday, March 30) in the town - matching the heat in Spain

Families flocked to Abington Park today to enjoy the sunshine, school holidays and the easing of lockdown restrictions.

The Chron's photographer went down to the park and snapped families having picnics, eating ice cream, sun bathing, and making the most of the sunshine.

Weather experts predict record March heat across the county on day two of an easing in lockdown restrictions and the school holidays.

People are allowed to mix in groups of up to six or two households in outdoor spaces for the first time since January.

Thousands are expected to make the most of the mini-heatwave this week.
