Walk around Isle of Wight helps raise £9,000 for Northamptonshire kids' cancer charity

The money was raised by Ambivent and Borras Construction, whose employees held a family day and a 66-mile walk round the Isle of Wight in aid of NCTLC Trust.

Janet Walker-Smith, founder of the Earls Barton-based charity, said: “We were delighted to learn over a year ago that both had chosen the charity to raise

funds over the whole of 2015.

“A year on we were invited back to receive a cheque for an amazing £9,128.

“So a massive thank you to them all for the support and help they have given us, to enable the charity to further the work we do to support families at this difficult time.”

The charity was set up by Mrs Walker-Smith following her little boy completing treatment for Leukaemia in 2008, and now supports all families

undergoing treatment in Northamptonshire and further afield.

NCTLC Trust gives practical advice and support to families, providing financial help towards the high costs of hospital visits, for example parking costs and

accommodation.

In addition they arrange respite caravan breaks and life-enhancing experiences for families to enjoy together such as children’s fantasy break on Christmas Eve to Butlins.
